At 18 weeks gestation, we noticed that something looked "off" with Zachary's heart. At our 20-week anatomy scan, it was confirmed that he had several issues. He was diagnosed with "Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome". Basically, the right side of his heart is underdeveloped from having several defects. His defects are: Pulmonary valve stenosis (narrowing), a hypoplastic right ventricle (his left ventricle does most of the work), and tricuspid valve hypoplasia (underdevelopment).
Our main goal is to spread awareness about congenital heart disease, as well as gaining support from our community. Congenital heart defects are the #1 defects in newborns. 1 in 100 babies with be born with some kind of heart defect!
Any funds raised from your purchase of these shirts will help with our expenses (meals on the road, babysitting for our other children, and gas- driving to and from appointments in Boston, Brockton, etc).
Thank you for your support!
