My brother, Carl, is in the fight of his life against a rare form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, called Burkitts Lymphoma. He had this beaten once, but it has reappeared. He was do to retire from the Rensselaer County Sheriffs Office after 25 years on the job. However, for now, he needs to remain on the payroll to keep his families health insurance, but his time will be exhausted by the first part of February. He is retired from the US Army Reserves, however he is unable to draw on that retirement. He has never asked for help, but has always been the first one to offer her to anyone in need, be it repairing their vehicle, or making sure I was taken care of during my battle with breast cancer. He was a volunteer firefighter for many years, and was honored as one of the Firefighters of the Year for 1992. His wife of 14 years is a nurse, working in a family practice. He has 12 year old twins, a son & a daughter. As I said, he would never ask for help, so I, his big sister, am just trying to help his family out. As his chemo will require hospitalization, there is a chance he will not be home for Christmas. I know the fight is much easier if you don't have to worry about bills. So please, if you are in law enforcement, a veteran, a volunteer in anyway, or just a person that wants to help, please buy a shirt. Every little bit helps! We're all in this fight together!
