This movement speaks volumes. Cultural appropriation has always been an issue in society. However, we cannot be insensitive to some situations and overly passionate about others. The beautiful part about the world is how many gorgeous cultures exist. There is a difference between honoring a culture and mocking one. So before you buy a sombrero and fake mustache to get wasted on Cinco de Mayo, dress up like a Native American with face paint for a costume party, wear a bindi and a sari to be edgy, paint your face black and get cornrows or dreads to be your favorite rapper for Halloween...THINK.
